This document describes how to use MySQL (Percona Server) 5.6 on Engine Yard.

Enable MySQL (Percona Server) 5.6

You need to enable the Early Access feature before you can participate in the program.

To enable the MySQL (Percona Server) 5.6 Early Access

  1. Log in to your Engine Yard account.

  2. On the dashboard, click Tools > Early Access on the toolbar.


  3. Next to the Mysql5.6 feature, click Enable.

    The related functionality becomes available.

Configure MySQL (Percona Server) 5.6

To use MySQL 5.6 in your existing to environment, you must stop the environment and rebuild it. See Changing or Upgrading Databases for more information.

To configure MySQL (Percona Server) 5.6 when creating a new environment

  1. Log in to your Engine Yard account.
  2. Click Dashboard.
  3. Navigate to an application by clicking on the application name.
  4. Click Create New Environment.
  5. Enter the information necessary for your environment. Specific to MySQL (Percona Server) 5.6, select MySQL 5.6.x in the Database Stack field.
  6. Click CreateEnvironmentButton.png
