With Environment Alerts, Engine Yard keeps an eye on your instance, records the alerts, and (optionally) emails you.
Note: Email alerts are disabled by default.
The following steps will help you set up monitoring for your account:
To enable alerts
- In Engine Yard Cloud, go to your Dashboard.
- Select an environment by clicking the environment name.
- On the Environment page, enter your email address in the Send important server alerts to email field.
- Click on Send Email Alerts.
Follow the above steps for each environment that you want to monitor. For example, you might not need to receive alerts for your staging environment, but you want alerts for your production environment.
To view alerts
Note: You can view the alerts, even if you have not enabled email alerts.
- In Engine Yard Cloud, go to your Dashboard.
- Select an environment by clicking the environment name.
- On the Environment page, click View past alerts.
To change the email address
- In Engine Yard Cloud, go to your Dashboard.
- Select an environment by clicking the environment name.
- Click on Disable Email Alerts.
- Specify the new email address to receive alerts in the Send important server alerts to email field.
- Click on Send Email Alerts.

Great - so how do you add more than ONE email address?
Hi Jon,
It is currently only possible to add one email address for alerting. If you want to alert multiple people, the best bet would be to use a group email address or alias. Something like engineyard_alerts@company.com that goes to the selected people.
I have also created a feature request at https://support.cloud.engineyard.com/entries/21759368-add-multiple-email-addresses-for-alerts so you can follow along and vote up the request.
Thanks,
Evan
