There is 2 similar gems.

https://rubygems.org/gems/ey-core
https://rubygems.org/gems/engineyard

What are the characteristics of each?
Is it simple that engineyard gem is an old version and ey-core gem is a new version?

Hi Junichi,

Yes, the 'ey-core' is a new, improved version of the 'engineyard' one.  Matter of fact, at this point 'engineyard' is just a wrapper of 'ey-core' to maintain compatibility.

I'll suggest to work with 'ey-core' as looking forward that's the one that will receive fixes, updates, and improvements.

Does the ey-core gem still use the ey.yml file? I do not see ey.yml mentioned here: https://github.com/engineyard/core-client-rb

Where is the best place to find documentation on using the ey.yml file?

Hello Clint,

It is not essential to use ey.yml in `ey-core`, But for further customization in the environment such as precompilation of assets you can make use of the `ey.yml` file.

Regarding the ey.yml configurations, you can utilize the documenration at the same old engineyard gem repository that you can find over here at https://github.com/engineyard/engineyard
